A small collection of paving and curbstone measurements done in Philadelphia, including the Northern Liberties section, in the years 1810-1811, 1827-1828, 1832, and 1843. Most of the measurements were done by Joseph H. Siddall. The documents are described in accession number order. .107, paving and curbstone measurement along Old York Road, from Coats St. to Poplar Lane, August 8, 1828; lists the names of property owners, with their frontage along the street and the length of curbstone for which they were to be charged. .108, paving measurement along New Market Street, between Green and Noble Streets, September 13, 1843, including a list of property owners and the amount of paving for which they were to be charged. Some of the paving was to be charged to the Corporation of the Northern Liberties. .109, paving measurement along Elizabeth Street, between Calvert St. and Poplar Lane, October 18, 1832, with a list of property owners. .110, measurement taken for the watering committee, along Noble St., from Front to Second St., August 24, 1827, with list of property owners. The measurer did not sign this document. .111, a measurement done along Water Street, beginning at Callowhill, 1810-1811, purpose of measurement is unknown; some property owners are mentioned. The measurer did not sign this document, but a penciled note on the back says the page was from the Robert Brook [i.e. Brooke] papers and that he was a surveyor for the Northern Liberties. .112, paving measurement along Peach St. in the Northern Liberties, May 27,1828; lists the names of property owners, with their frontage along the street and the length of curbstone for which they were to be charged.
